“Do not be afraid!” -Deut. 31:6

Those words felt impossible to apply. When I look back at the lessons I’ve learned since we launched the show one year ago, I can’t help but be astounded. When we filmed our very first episode in October 2023, I was SO SCARED! I knew the risks associated with speaking out against some of the harmful practices of the organization and that made my blood run cold… just not cold enough to stop me. Building this tiny community within a community has helped me understand just how much more work there is to do. There are so many more people, just like Jason & I out there, looking for a sliver of hope. Looking for one indication that something about the organization isn’t right. Trying to find validation for the way they feel, for the warning bells they may hear ringing. So I say to every viewer that reached out and shared their story, WE HEAR YOU. To every listener that messaged us with their personal questions, WE SEE YOU. To the burnt out JW tuning in, on the fence, scared to leave but terrified to stay, WE WERE YOU. We understand because we have been in those shoes. So when you watch the show, please know that you aren’t looking at just two friends chatting for views. You are seeing two people that escaped and are living full, healthy, happy, FREE lives and are hoping you can join them on the outside.
